Vice President and Regional Administrator

As a member of The Permanente Medical Group’s (TPMG) executive team, Timothy Wemple has responsibility for several functions within the organization, including quality and operations support, medical group support services, human resources, and labor relations strategy. He also oversees the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences and works closely with the physicians-in-chief and medical group administrators in 21 medical centers to achieve optimal operating performance.

Wemple, who took on his current role in 2015, has extensive experience in health care delivery operations, serving as the medical group administrator of the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center for 5 years. He initially joined TPMG in 2009 in the role of Regional Director.

Prior to joining TPMG, he was the chief operating officer for Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Boston, where he worked for 8 years. He also held health care operations leadership positions with several other organizations, including the University of California, San Francisco, where he oversaw the operations of various professional departments and ambulatory programs.

Wemple earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science-Public Service at UC Davis and a master’s degree in Hospital and Health Care Administration at the University of Minnesota.
