Associate Executive Director
Nancy Goler MD, who was named associate executive director for The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) in 2016, has accountability for women’s health and pediatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Goler, who joined TPMG in 1998 as an obstetrician-gynecologist at the Kaiser Permanente Fremont Medical Center, has held several leadership roles with TPMG and Kaiser Permanente Northern California. She was assistant chief of Ob/Gyn at KP Fremont, associate chief of Ob/Gyn for the Greater Southern Alameda Service Area, and clinical director for TPMG’s Vallejo Appointment and Advice Call Center (AACC).
She then took on the role assistant regional clinical director for the AACC, where she focused on strategic priorities such as the Wellness Coaching Center, the International Travel Services Program and the KP patient outreach support team. In addition, she oversaw ob/gyn scripts, protocols and patient access.
Dr. Goler, who also served as the medical director for Kaiser Permanente Northern California’s Early Start program for more than a decade, has published multiple papers, one of which earned her the Morris F. Collen Research Award from TPMG in 2008. That same year, she was selected by Health Leaders as one of the “Top 20 People Making a Difference in Health Care” based on her work as the lead investigator of a research study about Kaiser Permanente’s Early Start program in the Journal of Perinatology.
She also takes great pride in her team’s January 2011 published article that appeared in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s “Green Journal,” Obstetrics and Gynecology. The article provided a substantial cost-benefit analysis of the Early Start program, and demonstrated the importance of investing health care resources early to provide better outcomes and cost savings later.
A board certified obstetrician/gynecologist, Dr. Goler earned her medical degree at The Medical College of Pennsylvania and then completed her residency at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco before joining TPMG.
