Patricia Conolly, MD
Associate Executive Director
Dr. Conolly leads the development and use of technology in support of The Permanente Medical Group’s (TPMG) integrated and multidisciplinary approach to care delivery. She also serves as executive vice president for IT and as chief information officer for The Permanente Federation.
The focus of her work at TPMG involves expanding the accessibility of health information and decision-support tools for patients, as well as leveraging and enhancing the technology available to our physicians to improve the quality and efficiency of our care. Today’s technology—with web, mobile and video platforms—enables us to expand care beyond our facilities and to bring care to our patients, making health care more connected, convenient and accessible.
Dr. Conolly, who joined TPMG in 1983, maintains her clinical practice in the Department of Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Oakland. Her past leadership roles at TPMG include clinical director of the Appointment and Advice Call Centers, and chief of Medicine and director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Kaiser Permanente Oakland. She also led TPMG’s efforts in health promotion, patient education and rehabilitation services.
At the national level, Dr. Conolly is the chair of the board of directors for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Conolly received her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She completed her residency at Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, and served on the faculty at the University of California, San Francisco, as an associate clinical professor.
