Suketu Sanghvi, MD

Dr. Sanghvi serves as The Permanente Medical Group’s (TPMG) liaison to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, and to large employers who purchase Kaiser Permanente coverage for their employees.
A keen observer of developments in health policy and in the health care marketplace, Dr. Sanghvi’s interest in the larger picture of health care grew during his 12 years on TPMG’s Board of Directors, where he served on both the Governance and Finance Committees.
In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Sanghvi sees patients at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center.
Dr. Sanghvi currently serves on the boards of the Integrated Healthcare Association and the Kaiser Permanente Insurance Company. He has held leadership positions in the California Medical Association, America’s Physician Groups (formerly known as the California Association of Physician Groups and CAPG), the California Association of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the San Francisco Medical Society. He teaches residents at Kaiser Permanente, California Pacific Medical Center, and Stanford.
Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Sanghvi received his medical degree at Harvard Medical School after graduating summa cum laude from Harvard College. He joined TPMG in 1991 at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center, and was appointed associate executive director in 2011.
